Zermatt can be reached by train from Montreux via Visp. It takes from 2 hours 31 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes to travel from Montreux to Zermatt. The town of Zermatt is car-free, so I highly recommend leaving your car in Montreux and taking the train. It is also possible to drive to Täsch and take the Zermatt Shuttle from there.


5. Bern

One of the most important day trips you can take from Montreux is to Bern, Switzerland’s de facto capital, which is just 91 kilometers away. It can be reached in 1 hour and 5 minutes by car.
