How to Get from Interlaken to Iseltwald By Bus

The quickest way to get from Interlaken to Iseltwald is to ride the bus. Take Bus 103 from Interlaken West or Interlaken Ost to Iseltwald, Dorfplatz.

The bus ride to Iseltwald takes 29 to 33 minutes from Interlaken West and 21 to 25 minutes from Interlaken Ost.

How to Get from Interlaken to Iseltwald By Boat

Taking the boat from Interlaken to Iseltwald is the most scenic way to travel. The boat doesn’t leave every hour, though. Check the timetable to see when it leaves.

Interlaken Ost is the easiest place to start your boat trip to Iseltwald. Take the boat from Interlaken Ost heading to Brienz. This boat will stop in Bönigen (and sometimes also Ringgenberg) before heading to Iseltwald.

If you want to take the boat from Brienz, simply do the following:

  1. In Interlaken Ost, take the Interregio train to Brienz.
  2. In Brienz, take the boat going to Interlaken Ost. Get off in Iseltwald (See).

Iseltwald is accessible by boat four times a day from Brienz. You can find the boat schedule on bls.ch. I highly recommend taking the boat if you have enough time. You can also opt to take the scenic route going to Iseltwald and the bus on your way back.
